Hello! My name is Jill Farrand, and I am the PK-12 Principal here at Heuvelton Central School. I am incredibly excited to be in this role, bringing with me many years of experience in public education. My educational journey actually began right here in this building, in 1987 as a kindergarten student. Since my graduation from Heuvelton, I have worked in many different capacities in the educational realm.

After graduation from HCS, I attended SUNY Potsdam and obtained my Bachelor’s Degree in Childhood Education Grades 1-6, and upon graduation was hired by Lisbon Central School District to teach English to grades 5 and 6. I spent the next 12 years at Lisbon, getting my Master’s Degree in Literacy Grades B-6, teaching 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grades, as well as Reading AIS. During that time, I also received my Certificate of Advanced Studies in Educational Administration through Stony Brook University. Once I decided to move into the administrative realm, I took a job at St. Lawrence-Lewis BOCES as an Assistant Principal at the Seaway Career and Technical Center in Norwood, NY. At Seaway, I was able to work with students in grades 9-12 who chose our programs to enhance their high school experience. I was able to see students in programs and classes that they truly loved, and gain valuable skills and knowledge that they would need for real-world applications later on in life. I take the lessons learned from this experience with me into the role of PK-12 Principal.

My goal at Heuvelton is to create a welcoming and safe environment for our students and community members within the halls of Heuvelton Central. I am passionate about helping students see their potential, and interacting with members of the school community as much as I can to gain a better understanding of what makes our school so special. In my mind, once a bulldog, always a bulldog. I am thrilled to be here, bringing with me all of my life experiences as I fill this role in my hometown community.

My door is open, so please, stop in, take a look around, and introduce yourself!
