I would like to introduce myself as some of you may not have crossed my path as the former Pre-K-6 Heuvelton Principal. My name is Shannon Jordan and I am thrilled to announce that I am the new 7-12 Principal. I am honored to be joining the Middle/High School team at HCS. Over the past 17 years I have been immersed in education at all levels from Pre-K to college. My previous roles have been High School and Elementary School Counselor, Adjunct Professor for SLU, BOCES Special Education Supervisor and for the past 8 years I have been an Elementary Principal both in Massena and most recently Heuvelton Elementary. I have had the best time here at HCS!

If I could describe my motto, I would say I care for people and advocate for kids. As a mother of four children, I make all of my decisions using the guiding “my kid test” as I ask myself what would I want for my own children. I promise to give them all my respect and will encourage a community of mutual respect for all.  I have the best job on earth in my opinion. I get to come to work and be surrounded by kids of all ages eager to learn and all unique to their own style. I intend to spend a lot of time with your children to learn their personalities and listen to their future hopes and wishes. I hope to get to know them all and I look forward to their feedback on what matters to them in and out of school. I will be there to celebrate their successes and lend a hand when they fall.

Not only am I excited to work with your children, I look forward to our partnership as well. I truly stand by the old African Proverb, “It takes a village to raise a child.” I am excited to learn about your children through your eyes. I look forward to sharing with you the great things they accomplish during their days at HCS. I am committed this year to sharing with you more frequently.  I hope you can take a minute to stop by and introduce yourself and your kids to me or even better they can bring you by to meet me. I am thrilled to be here and have many fresh ideas on how to make the Heuvelton MS/HS experience an excellent and memorable one.
