Degrees and Certifications:
I have been teaching in the Heuvelton School District since 2010. I teach English 9, English 12 and AP Literature & Composition, and the elective Public Speaking. I also assist with the Positivity Project at the high school level and the Learn to Lead mentoring program. Prior to HCS I was at Massena Central High School from 2001-2009, where I taught English 9, English 12, and electives Theater Arts, Creative Writing and Public Speaking. I was the drama club adviser and directed the spring musicals.
I graduated with a B.A. in Communications/Journalism from St. John Fisher College in Rochester, NY. I earned my Masters in Teaching English from SUNY Potsdam. It was there that I discovered how much I truly enjoy working with teenagers. Although often challenging, the daily reminders from my students (current and past) keep me grateful and reaffirm I am doing what I love!
