Heuvelton voters pass 2023-24 budget

The approved budget preserves academic programs, keeps class sizes small, and provides additional supports for students with no increase in local school taxes.

“We are thankful and appreciative for our voters. This budget represents a strong future for all students within the Heuvelton school community, “ says Superintendent of Schools Jesse Coburn.

Voters also approved establishing a capital reserve of $6.5 million for future construction work by a vote of 128 (yes) to 27 (no), as well as electing a student representative to the Board of Education by a vote of 132 (yes) and 24 (no).

Voters also elected the following candidates to fill two open seats on the Heuvelton Board of Education:

  • Michael Macaulay: 96 votes
    • Five-year term
  • Jamie Lopez: 72 votes
    • One-year term
  • Mathew Pinkerton: 71 votes
    • Barbara Knauf: 69 votes
