It is an honor to introduce myself as the PreK-12 Assistant Principal and Committee on Special Education Chair here at Heuvelton Central School. I am thrilled to be taking on this endeavor working with staff, students and families to provide an engaging and supportive educational experience.
My previous roles expanded across multiple grade levels and locations with North Coast Therapy, BOCES and Heuvelton Central School. I have been the Dean of Students and prior to that the 7th-12th grade Resource Room Teacher here at Heuvelton since 2018. While with BOCES I worked in a variety of behaviorally focused classrooms, providing academic instruction and social emotional support in a 6:1:1,12:1:1,and at Collaborative Day Treatment. During my time at North Coast Therapy I provided home based intervention services for infants and pre-school aged youth. I am thrilled to utilize my skills and experiences to work with students, staff and families as a partner in education to ensure every students' success. I am also a coach in the district; having coached modified boys soccer, basketball and modified girls softball. Coaching provides an opportunity to interact and connect with students on a personal level over a common interest while fostering a positive school connection. In addition to coaching, I partake in a variety of committees and teams to ensure that we here at Heuvelton Central School meet the needs of the whole student; ensuring their cognitive, physical, social and emotional development. I feel very fortunate to be part of this extraordinary school community and to support our students, staff and families. I share in this district's commitment to caring for our students while providing them with an engaging school experience. I believe that students are at the center of all school-related decisions and that relationships serve as the foundation of success. My door is always open. I look forward to collaboratively working together while keeping students as the primary focus of our work. |
