The Heuvelton Central School Food Pantry was the recipient of generous donations in the month of January.
The Northern New York Community Foundation (NNYCF) provided the pantry with a $500 donation to purchase necessary supplies. The NNYCF is a significant sponsor of food pantries in the tri-county region. Read more about their 2024 contributions, here.
The Kendrew Methodist Church, a local community partner, also provided a donation to the pantry from the 2024 Kendrew Methodist Church Memory Tree project.
Donations like these are crucial to the success of our food pantry and our ability to contribute to food security within our community.
Same Service, New (Temporary) Location
Beginning in February, the Heuvelton CSD food pantry will be temporarily housed at GracePoint Wesleyan Church (formerly Cornerstone Wesleyan Church), located at 18 York Street in Heuvelton.
The pantry will continue to be open for February through June on the 4th Thursday of the month, from 3:30-5:00 p.m. An exception is for the month of April, when it will be open on the 3rd Thursday (April 17th) due to the scheduled April break.

ABOUT US
In 2018, the Heuvelton Central School District became host to the first school-based food pantry in St. Lawrence County. Currently, the HCS Food Pantry is serving an average of 64 customers each month during pantry shopping hours and through the school district Backpack Program.
Like many local food pantry organizations, the Food Pantry at HCS receives New York State grants from the Food Bank of Central New York each year through The Federal Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP.) The USDA provides TEFAP with American-grown USDA Foods and administrative funds, enabling the program to supplement the diets of low-income individuals at no cost.
In addition to NYS grants, the Heuvelton Central School Food Pantry is the beneficiary of many private and community donations throughout the year. These donations include anonymous donations of money, student birthday fundraisers, and donations from community groups and local organizations. The Heuvelton School Food Pantry partners with the Bulldog Backpack Program, a school-based program run by the Heuvelton Teachers’ Association to pool resources and improve food security for district families and students.
