Testing Information for Parents

Heuvelton Central School

Dear Parents and Caregivers:

We have received strong interest in having unvaccinated students participate in COVID-19 screening testing offered at Heuvelton Central School, and coordinated through St. Lawrence County Public Health.  Our goal is for all students for whom we have received parental consent to be tested every week, though this may not occur at the outset as we refine the process.  We appreciate your patience as we ramp up this new process.

We have partnered with Quadrant Biosciences and SUNY Upstate Medical University to incorporate their Clarifi COVID-19 testing program.  The Clarifi COVID-19 test is currently the most sensitive saliva test on the market, and has been administered over 2 million times to college and K-12 students in New York State.  The Clarifi COVID-19 test involves a very simple and painless saliva swab that the student can easily self-administer, as shown in this short video.  For any student to be tested, parents must create a student profile through Quadrant Biosciences as outlined below.  This includes parents that have already completed the Google form or paper consent form.  We apologize for the additional step, but we will benefit from the expertise of this proven program.

PROFILE CREATION

To participate in the testing program, you must create a student profile at:  app.Clarifi-COVID-19.com.  If you have more than one child participating in the testing, you can register them all under one account.  If the student profile has not been completed prior to the day of testing, your child will not be able to participate in testing that week.  Here’s what you will need to do:

  1. Go to app.clarifi-covid-19.com, click "register," and complete the required fields to create a profile. Once you are registered, you will enter profile information.  This information is needed for compliance with the NYS Department of Health and for insurance purposes.
  2. Please be sure to select Heuvelton Central School District when prompted to select an organization.
  3. Please note you will be asked to provide Health Insurance information, but you will not be billed for this test.  Quadrant Biosciences will be seeking reimbursement directly from your health insurance provider, and this is covered by federal aid.
  4. Individuals will not need to "Add a COVID-19 test" prior to testing.  This will be completed on site on the day of testing.

When samples are collected on test day at school, we will send them off to Quadrant’s lab in Syracuse for analysis.  Results will be returned within 24-48 hours and will be available for you to view by logging back into app.Clarifi-COVID-19.com.
