HCS Students in IMPETUS Program go to Clarkson University and Six Flag's Great Escape

Every year students from our North Country that participate in the IMPETUS (Integrated Math and Physics for Entry into Undergraduate STEM) program are invited to Clarkson University's campus for a short summer program. This year students from Heuvelton that were able to participate were: Hayden Durham, Deacon Hazelton, Charles and Jase Madill, Eathan Bogardus and Paxton Davis.

The students work together in engineering "companies" to build a scale drawing and virtual model of a roller coaster while learning the math and science that goes into designing a safe but enjoyable ride. Even though the trip to Great Escape was delayed a couple weeks due to dangerous storms and flooding, the students had a lot of fun during their trip!
