Director of Curriculum and Instruction

Hello!
My name is Alison Connelly. While I am newer to the Heuvelton school district, I am not new to the North Country. I was born and raised in the north country, and after graduating high school at Indian River Central School, I completed my bachelor's degree in childhood education at SUNY Potsdam. Upon graduation I moved to the Syracuse metropolitan area, where I completed my master's degree in education at SUNY Cortland and remained there until July 2022, when we made the decision to move our family back to the north country.

I come to Heuvelton with over 15 years of elementary teaching experience. Within the last ten years of my work experience I was a district team leader, which prepared me for my role in curriculum and instruction here at HCS. I am currently enrolled in the School Building Leadership program at SUNY Plattsburgh, focusing on standards, curriculum, and assessments, providing me with a wealth of knowledge to support these specific areas at HCS.

In collaboration with the community and staff, I will continue to monitor student data, explore curriculum, highlight learning standards, learn, and grow to ensure that all students at HCS are provided with a positive, respectful environment that inspires dedication to educational excellence.
